Review: You by Caroline Kepnes

You (You, #1)You by Caroline Kepnes

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t even know where to start with this. I mean, Joe. Is it wrong that I totally love him in all his stalker glory? That I felt crazy during this whole experience because I got him. I understood him. He was right, all the time, even though he was oh so wrong? This book was an amazing journey. The writing, flawless. The narration, perfect. This book. This freaking book! Read it. Listen to it. Devour it. Live it. Breathe it.

“When in Vegas, ignore the douches, let the good times roll, and always carry a spare set of panties in your purse, just in case. That’s what Mom used to tell me. Mom was fun.” This book was a great reprieve from the angsty, heartbreaking, soul crushing romances I’ve read lately! Julia is a romance novelist. […]

Jay McLean – Coast (COVER REVEAL + $50 Amazon GC giveaway)

COAST (Kick Push 2) – by Jay McLean

Series: The Road #3, Kick Push #2

Cover reveal date: May 23, 2016

Release Date: June 7, 2016

One life-changing summer.

One boy.

The boy.

The boy who offered me safe touches and heart-stopping smiles – smiles he shared with his son.

We filled our days with porch-step kisses,

filled our ears with laughter,

filled our hearts with love.

Deep, soul-aching, desperate love.

But love is misleading.

It’s an invisible, fleeting moment.

Somewhere between false adoration and pure hatred comes an emotion, a vulnerable need, a single desire.

It lives within the ones who miss it, who crave it,

who know better than to expect it.

Love is relentless.

Even when that love turns to hate, turns to loathing,

turns to pain.

Love should heal you.

But it can also break you.

Believe me, I know…

Because I’m Becca Owens – a broken girl…

…And he’s Josh Warden – the boy who broke me.

All the Rage – TM Frazier

“What you don’t seem to understand is all that matters right now is standing right fucking here,” Nolan said, his voice thick and deep. His eyes were the darkest I’d ever seen them, glimmering with wicked intent. One side of his full lips curled upward in a devilish smirk. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. I was consumed by him. Or at least, from the way he continued to fuck me with his eyes, I knew I was about to be.
Nolan took a step forward and I took two back. Our little dance made him chuckle, the sound coming from deep within his throat. With just that little laugh my insides clenched so hard I gasped. Nolan’s smirk grew into a knowing smile. His eyes darted to the space between my legs where my shorts had ridden up, exposing every inch of my shaking thighs.
He licked his bottom lip, tracing it with the tip of his tongue. My inner battle raged on between wanting to run away from him, and wanting to run straight into him. Although, it wasn’t like it mattered which option won out in the end. The pier was narrow, and Nolan was blocking my only way out.
He reached down and unbuckled his belt, sliding it out through the loops. Folding it in half, he snapped the leather together. The sound an echoing crack through the damp night air.
Our dance continued as he took another step toward me and I again retreated. “Since you don’t seem to feel the same way, let me tell you what’s going to happen right now,” Nolan started.
“I’m going to make you come on my fingers.” Step. “On my tongue.” Step. “And around my cock.” His last step closed the space between us. My back hit the railing, trapping me between the end of the pier and his hard wall of a chest. My breathing became even more labored, my chest rising and falling in quick succession against his. Pressing against my stomach I could feel the heat of his hard cock through the worn fabric of his jeans. My nipples hardened as the ache in my core grew into need. “I’m going to fuck you. Hard. And I’m not going to stop fucking you until you realize that this shit between us is all that matters.”
That’s when I realized there would be no escaping this time.
From him.
From this.
From us.

Review: More Than Enough by Jay McLean

So, I’m about to write what I feel will be the hardest review I will ever write.
Why? Because this book, this freaking book, is so much more than my words could ever give justice. How do you write a worthy review of something that touched you so deeply you literally had to walk away from it just to gather your emotions before you could continue? A book that hit you in all the right ways that you stopped simply reading someone else’s words and began to live them? How do you do that justice? I have read a lot of books in my time, and I have loved so many of them. More Than Enough though, is now (and I don’t say this lightly) my favourite book, not one of my favourites, because I have many, but the top of that list. It deserves its own list. I have never, and I mean never, had to take a break from all the emotions swirling around inside me and overwhelming me.
My only regret about reading this book is that I will never, ever, be able to experience it again for the very first time. And that hurts.
This book is so much more than a book. This book is everything. It is love, it is grief, it is guilt, it is the calm and the storm, it is life and family and friendship, it is anger, it is need and it is honour and forgiveness and healing and moving on, it is tears and laughter and soul crushing highs and lows, it’s disappointment, self-punishment, unworthiness, faithfulness, loyalty and more guilt. It is sadness and happiness and joy and sorrow all mixed together to create a story so freaking beautiful that it will touch you so deeply, you won’t know where to put that emotion. And that is why writing a review worthy of this story, scratch that, writing a review worthy of this experience is daunting and impossible.
So, thank you Jay. Thank you so much for sharing More Than Enough with your readers. Thank you for breaking my heart, actually, not breaking my heart but destroying my soul. Thank you for healing the hurt and leaving my heart so full that it hurts and for making me live the lives of these characters and for touching me so deeply that I have tears rolling slowly down my face as I write this review. Just, thank you.
Your writing always leaves me raw and emotional, but MTE was by far the rawest and painful and beautiful experience that I have had. You have such an amazing talent with words and I am so grateful and humbled by the fact that I get to experience those words.

Fearless for Love by Clara Stone – Marilette’s Review

Review for Fearless for Love:
So many unexpected turn of events in the life of the hard-headed Lovelly man, Harrington. The always “first in command” in bullying their youngest brother. Harrington is the one who never thought he will one day fight for the love he concluded he will never get his self into. But in the end chose to open his self and allowed his heart be covered with the blanket of Love after the pain of losing the first woman he loved, his mother.

Another impressive story that captured my heart and pull all my emotions. Something that reminded me that in every relationship, both your weaknesses can also be the source of strength. That no matter the circumstance, we have no other choice but to always move forward and give out our best so we can spend every chance we have to be with our only love, even if it will cost our life.

Marilette’s Review: Starcrossed Series by Leisa Rayven

Bad Romeo:

21411058Would you rather be with a gentleman or a bad-ass one? Or why not be with a man with both propensity?

Would you rather be the lady that shies away your desire or the one who doesn’t hesitate a step forward to get a home run?

Giggle and catch your tears as you experience the excitement and heart-stopping affair of Holt and Cassie as they take one step forward and 2 steps backward into the world they created behind the curtains of the theater stage in the Grove, the place where you can be anyone you want to be.

Broken Juliet:

21411062Every love story reveals us the beauty behind every tragedy. Sometimes we meet the person who changes the direction of our lives forever but they do not become a part of our happy ending but some are lucky to find each other inside the labyrinth and end up together after their hearts were shattered into pieces along the way. Lovers find a way to gather all the broken shards of the past and present and allow themselves be welded together in place. Yes, not perfect but those scratches and bits of brokenness is what makes every tainted glass more captivating especially when lighted from within. Just like Cassie and Ethan’s love for each other, Broken Juliet will bring us to the depths of love’s unpredictable circumstances and will edify us that we cannot hide what we genuinely feel inside in front of the person we truly love. And in the end, we know that love always prevail.

Wicked Heart:

Wicked Heart (Starcrossed, #3)Can you bear to stand so near the person you’re deeply in love with but declare living your life with someone else forever? It is often asked, Is love merely a decision you can make or it is a feeling bound by fate?

As we step foot into Liss and Liam’s world, prepare to be shaken as their lives were changed instantly by their love for each other and to their families. Capture how years of their heart’s imprisonment made them vulnerable and strong at the same time. And how their life that is shattered by the circumstances were given another chance. Allow them to prove to us that “Fate is what we make it. You get the love you fight for. The one you think you deserve”

Another heart-melting story of euphoria and brokenness that will make us wonder how much we believe in love and in fate.

Review: The Witnessing of Matlyn Wren by Jennifer Lynn January

Sophie’s Review:

29963202It’s moments like this that make me so very grateful that one day, on a whim, I decided to start a blog. Never did I imagine the the absolute highs that this journey would bring.

Today is one of those days.

Today I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of Jennifer Lynn January’s debut novel. In the midst of the longest reading funk I’ve had to date, The Witnessing of Matlyn Wren gripped me by the balls and refused to let me go. I sat on the edge of my seat, waiting, pleading, accepting, right alongside Matlyn and Baker. I devoured the words weaved so perfectly together by Jennifer, a story that was WAY outside my norm but had piqued my curiosity from the beginning.

This story made me laugh, made me stare at the screen in disbelief, made me angry and sad and happy… And then it made me CRY.

It was full of snarky wit, a sense of loss, impending doom, humour, sadness, family, love. The list goes on.

I don’t know what to say other than please, when this book is released in May, pick it up and read it. Come on the journey I just traveled. You won’t regret it.
