Ana’s Review: “Carter (The Harlow Brothers Book 1)” by Brie Paisley

I’m seriously in love with this book and i only can advise you all to read it. From best friends to lovers is a smal step but when our world is turn upside down sometimes we runaway. Can we get it back?
“Carter (The Harlow Brothers Book 1)” by Brie Paisley Author is out now so you can’t miss it. Read, Live, Dream, it’s up to you.

#MyReview
When I start to read a new book so many thoughts goes through my head. Will I like it? Will I be addicted only from reading the first chapter? Will I vibrate and dream about this story?
Brie Paisley is a new author to me and when the opportunity arose to meet one of her works I did not hesitate. From only the prologue I knew I would live a roller coaster of feelings and emotions.
“Carter” is the first book of “The Harlow Brothers Series”.
This book is told by Shelby and Carter. Shelby is a lost soul. She was betrayed and deceived by those she trusted and is forced to flee, leaving everything behind and start a new life away from the cheating ex-husband and from all and everyone that hurt her. The fact that she had a childhood marked by her mother’s abandonment and by her father’s negligence made her an insecure person and with some serious trust issues. All she wants is to return to her hometown, even if she had sworn, thirteen years ago, that she would never come back, but she believes this city is the only place that she can find happiness again.
Carter is the older brother of five. He’s the one that is always there, ready to help when and where you need him. There is in him something pure and kind. For 13 years he suffered the absence of his best friend Shelby and blamed himself for her departure. They were lovers in high school, but something happened that separated them and from that day he never saw her again.
Can a love so strong cease to exist? Can they meet again and delete all these years of absence, hurt and pain?
This book had much impact on my way of seeing things, only came to show that there are no obstacles in life that we cannot overcome, no matter how bad they may seem there is always a turn to give.
The family, love, friendship and complicity are in great prominence in this book, but the betrayal, hate, psychological torture are also present.
Brie has a way of writing that appeals to the best we have but can also awaken the bad emotions as well. If you do not believe me, go grab your copy and start reading, then we can speak. And the hot scenes, you ask? Of course there is and you will be hot, very very hot …
I’m in love with this book and cannot wait to learn more about The Harlow Brothers.

The Book Community Is Killing My Love Of Books

So much THIS!

BookSmacked

So let’s start from the beginning for me.

I have always had a very strong love for books. I would go to bookstores and buy books. Then Amazon happened and I would order paperbacks. Then I got an IPAD for Christmas and well downloaded the Kindle App and bam my buying of books increased dramatically.

Just over a year ago I discovered an author because I search through Amazon for Romance Series and a sale on her book set of books 1 – 4 came up I bought it and fell in love. So I started doing a search and found her page on Facebook. I used facebook for friends and family but it never occurred to me that I could find authors there too. Then I found out she had a book club group. I immediately joined and oh my god I met so many wonderful people that became…

COVER REVEAL – Penny in London by Fisher Amelie

You know how everyone says when one door closes another one opens? At the time, you find this statement obnoxious as all get out because a) you don’t really know what the future holds, it certainly hasn’t been a cakewalk so far, and b) the thought of change is unbearable. You feel like your life is falling apart and everyone around is feeding you clichés like they’re made out of kale or quinoa or whatever the trend health food is right now. You don’t want kale clichés, you want double-chocolate fudge realisms, and you want them now. You just want things the way they were, but then something happens, a moment, an instant that sets you out on a path toward happiness you never knew could exist, and suddenly you think, huh, I don’t think I want double-chocolate fudge anymore. I think I’m in the mood for this heaping serving of strawberry cheesecake sitting in front of me…with a side of kale. And a pair of split pants, but we won’t get into that right now.
Graham Glenn may have tossed her in, but Oliver Finn made her feel again.

Review: Fleeting Moments by Bella Jewel

I have so many mixed feeling with this book, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The story was amazing, the build up and the plot were brilliant. Everything that I love when it comes to a Bella Jewel book.

The character development was great and I was totally sucked in and invested in the writing.

My only issue with anything, was that I wanted to punch Lucy through the first half of the book. I just felt that she was a little too much on the temper tantrum side of stubborn, not on the sassy side.

I love Bella’s heroines because they’re always strong and sassy women, but Lucy at times, felt more like a child who didn’t get her own way. I’m not going to pretend that I have the first clue about how she felt and how she should act, she had been through something horrific and to an extent I did understand her but I’m not going to lie, it drove me mad. But she does grow up and I find myself not wanting to punch her so bad, and dare I say it, actually liking her.

Hunter, oh my word. Hunter is EVERYTHING you can expect from one of Bella’s alphas. Dirty talking, swoon inducing, heart stopping, butterfly creating perfection. He really made this story for me. He just kept me coming back and wanting more.

I loved so much about this book, and I would recommend any alpha lover to pick it up and get sucked into Bella’s world.

One single moment changes everything
In one breath, you can have it all
A split-second later, it can all disappear
Vanished forever

That was me

I had it all
Then in a cruel twist of fate, it was taken from me
A beautiful life gone in a flash

But he was there

He was there to pick me up when I fell
To protect me
My savior. My rock.

He was just a stranger

Just a selfless stranger with a face I’ll never forget
Can’t forget
Won’t forget

And like everything else, he just disappeared

As if he never existed
I have to find him
I need to find him
He has to know that he saved me

He has to know that in that one fleeting moment, he was all I could see

Kristin Ashley - headshotAbout Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Exerpt #1
“You need to relax. You act like the idea of dating translates into something bigger. We’re not getting married, and while we more or less live together, it won’t be for long. So I’m asking you to relax.” His facial features soften and he steps even closer. He reaches out and runs his hand through my wet hair. Feeling bold, I reach up and run my fingers over the stubble on his chin, which causes him to smile.
“Do you really start a job tomorrow?” he asks. I square my shoulders and drop my hand, ready to fight him if he tries to talk me out of working. “Yes. It’s at a bookstore downtown.”
He nods his head and grins. “I’ll drive you to and from. Let me know your work schedule, and if I can’t be there, I’ll check with Kate.”
I tilt his chin down and look into his eyes. “I’ll be fine. I promise.” He starts to open his mouth to argue, but I place my finger over his lips. “I’ll tell you my schedule. I’ll let you know when I need a ride, I promise, but that doesn’t mean you can hover.” Our eyes lock together and the flutters I usually feel when I look at him are at an all-time high. His eyes nervously dart down to my lips. His breathing picks up as he looks back into my eyes. Kiran’s arm slowly wraps around my waist, pulling me even closer to him.
Neither of us does anything for several long moments until Kiran brings his hands up and cups my face. Our eyes remain locked as he brings his mouth down to mine. I feel an unexpected jolt pass through my body when our lips connect.
His lips feel soft and silky, a delicious contradiction to his stubble that rubs against my chin.
His mouth starts moving faster, greedier. His tongue pushes against my lips until I open up and allow him in. Kiran groans into my mouth, sending a wave of lust throughout my body. His tongue continues to move passionately with mine. Seconds later, I feel my towel drop to the floor. Kiran grips my hair in his hand and starts to dominate my mouth. His need for me overrides the self-control he showed moments ago. I whimper into his mouth, wanting to do so much more than just kiss him, but all too soon, Kiran pulls away. Both of our chests heave as we stare into each other’s eyes.
Exerpt #2
I slide out from under Isabelle and walk to the bathroom. I quietly close the door and flip on the light to look at myself in the mirror. “What the fuck is wrong with me?” I mumble. I splash water on my face as uneasiness settles in. Somehow, I’ve allowed Isabelle to get under my skin, and I have no idea what I can do to keep her. If I even want to keep her. Shit, of course I want to keep her, that’s the problem. When it comes down to it, though, what I want doesn’t matter.
Every damn time she talks about her life in Mexico, I do my best not to act disappointed that she plans to return to her old life, but it’s getting harder every second I’m with her.
I walk back into the bedroom where Isabelle is sound asleep. Her blonde hair is spread across her pillow. Her back slowly rises and falls. My heart speeds up just from looking at her. I pull the chair up next to the bed and I continue to watch her peacefully sleep.
I’m twenty-five years old, and I’ve spent my entire adult life avoiding the exact situation I’m in: feeling vulnerable and powerless to another person. Even though she knows she means something to me, Isabelle has no idea the control she wields over me, and for my peace of mind, I hope she doesn’t discover how much she really means to me before I discover if I have what it takes to keep her.
