I remembered that look.
I relished that look.
Not only on my Antoine but any lover I’d had (but, obviously, getting it from Antione was far more rewarding).
It was a look I worked toward, putting great energy and imagination into it, losing myself in these endeavors, feeling free of my name, my history, my secrets, my responsibilities, and reveling in my success as if I’d scaled mountains.
It was my greatest talent outside, of course (as any good Drakkar would excel), honing in on any vulnerability and manipulating it for the greatest possible gain—coin, jewels, furs, favors, silence, information, or simply for amusement.
Seeing the look on Noctorno at that moment, I knew Circe too had performed well (admirably well, I might add, considering her dismal past).
I also recognized—focusing on it keenly—what Circe might have missed, or perhaps what Noctorno hid from her understanding, or simply just sensing, how she came to him.
He was not done.
If she had not given indication she wished him out of her bedchamber, he’d still be in it.
Indeed, he might be in it all night, and not to sleep.
He might have been in it, perhaps, for days.
As these thoughts flitted in my mind, I became aware he’d fully entered the room, was stopped not far from my chair, and was standing, chin tipped down, eyes regarding me with a scrutiny that I found so uncomfortable I actually shifted in my seat.
I ceased this reaction the instant I became aware of it, appalled at myself.
Giving something away so easily? Especially something like discomfiture?
You’ve ruined me, I snapped silently at Antoine.
My dead lover had no rejoinder.
“You okay?” Noctorno asked.
“Am I what?” I asked in return.
His head gave a slight twitch before he went on, “You okay? All right?” His voice lowered. “It’s been a tough day, babe, for all of us. Including you.”
I looked beyond him to the fire, lifting my wine to my lips but not sipping it until after I murmured, “I’m perfectly fine.”
“Yeah, right,” he stated, and the disbelief veritably dripping from his tone made my gaze flick immediately back to him.
This meant I watched as he sauntered right in front of me to the chair accompanying mine, threw his lengthy frame in it and reached for the wine at the table that separated our seats.
He also reached for the extra glass.
These were seats, I shall add, that were turned at corners to each other with a small, round table in between, so my knee was nearly touching his.
It was on the tip of my tongue to share that I had not invited him to attend me.
Alas, I became distracted by his long fingers, and the words died in my mouth.

About Kristen Ashley:
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Girls let me tell you that the series i’m about to post my reviews is so so good. I recomend to everyone to have a good look at this series. The Braille Club is the first book from the ” The Braille Club Series” from J.A. Kerr ( J A Kerr Author of The Braille Club Series ) and belive me you will love it.
I, for some time, wanted to have read this series and when an opportunity arose I did not hesitate. I was very happy to have the chance to read this series and every word I read made me become more and more anxious.
J. A. Kerr is a new author to me and I can say that I enjoyed a lot the way she tells this story. The way she writes is simple and catchy, and the fact that the book is narrated in the third person makes it different as if she was reading just for me.
“The Braille Club” explores the story of various characters, each special in its own way.
Benedict is the founder of the Braille Club, club that he decided to open after attending a party where the theme was similar. Something awakens him and the unknown was something that enthused and excited. He felt something he never expected to feel and want to find the person who gave him this wonderful experience. He is a very private person, just want to make his business thrive, do not want relationships and does not have time for girlfriends.
Sienna is a mysterious woman, who had known Benedict in a bar and cannot forget him. Unfortunately she has a past that haunts her and wants at all costs to be happy and free from the shackles that limit her happiness.
Nick is Sienna’s husband, he’s a psychiatrist, a very possessive of his wife, but something in it emanates bad energy.
Guy is the right arm of Benedict, he’s a former police officer and with Benedict they manage “The Braille Club”. He is a reserved and taciturn man.
Matt is Benedict’s best friend. He’s an attractive man, cheerful and loves parties. For him their friendship is very important.
Gabriella is a married woman but lately her love life has not run optimally. She longs to spice up her sex life, to find desire again.
Abbey was constantly betrayed by her husband and never felt so miserable and humiliated like this. She wants to save her marriage but don’t know how.
Through a friend, Abbey and Gabriella know the “The Braille Club”. The unknown captivates them but would have managed the necessary weapons to save their marriages?
The whole book alternates between the present and the past. We get to know Benedict’s past but also his present.
I loved what I read, the uncertain, the mystery, the unknown made me want to read more and more. I had said this before but I will say it again, I found this book extremely engaging and cannot wait to start reading the next book, “The Braille Club Unbound” because the suspense involving the last chapters was very agonizing and intense.
I rated this book with 5 Bookworm stars
The Braille Club Undone is the second book from The Braille Series from J.A. Kerr.( J A Kerr Author of The Braille Club Series ) and like the first one is breathtaking.
If I was hallucinating by the way “The Braille Club”, the first book in this series ended, I can’t tell you what crossed my mind when I started reading “The Braille Club Unbound”. I was so nervous just for how this book began that I cannot find the right words to describe it. What will happen next?
“The Braille Club Unbound” focuses on the stories of Sienna, Benedict and Nick, but also lets us know the story of Guy, Anna, Matt, Niven, Ford and Esme. The love story between Sienna and Benedict will be taken by assault.
As I had said in my previous review, Guy is Benedict and Sienna’s right arm, and we will figure more about his past. He has a past that binds him to Anna, and I can say that the scenes between them are hot as hell.
Anna is a renowned lawyer, she’s a determined woman who always get what she wants. When she meet Guy she knows that something inside her rekindles but when her marriage is endangered something change.
Niven is an extremely beautiful girl, a well-known model and beloved by the public. She feels observed and that makes her uneasy. Her childhood was marked by abandonment, neglect and tragedy and all this made her very insecure.
Matt is Benedict’s best friend and his partner in his architecture business. He continues with his natural joy and love bugging Benedict, in a positive way of course.
Ford is an engineer hired to improve and create the technology needed to manage “The Braille Club”. He’s a loner who likes to be left alone in his little world.
Esme is Ford’s friend from college days. She’s elusive and funny and she’s also an engineer and the passion she has for her profession leads her to always want more, to want to overcome everything and everyone.
This book continues to alternate between the past and the present. J.A. Kerr has, as I had said before, a simple, appealing and addictive writing. The suspense she manage to transpire for this book is something indescribable. I felt literally glued to my Kindle, I didn’t wanted to be bothered because I wanted to read more and more. Things were happening at a breakneck pace that made my anxiety levels go up sharply. The unknown and the uncertain were the fuse that caused all this explosion of feelings, fears and concerns. The events, wars, follies are emerging one after another, my god it tortured me. And the hot scenes? The hot scenes were beautiful, very torrid and intense. I had to start reading the third book of this series “The Braille Club Undone” because I wanted to know what would happen to the main characters of this plot.
I rated this book with 5 bookworm stars
The Braille Club Undone is the third book from The Braille Club Series from J.A. Kerr (J A Kerr Author of The Braille Club Series)
Prepare yourself to feel
With much anxiety, curiosity and desperation was how I felt when I started reading this book. Despair that was growing because of the other books in this series.
Keep in mind that if you haven’t read the other books of this series you should not start reading this because although there are new characters, the stories of the main characters of this plot continues. I am sincerely addicted to JA Kerr writing because her writing is something I cannot explain. She could appeal to the best in me but also the worst.
Like the other books from this series, “The Braille Club Undone” continues to tell the stories of Benedict, Sienna, Nick, Guy, Anna, Niven and Matt but we are also introduced to Si, Tess, Virinder and Noor.
Si and Tess are two TV presenters who are involved in an explosive relationship, a relationship that will lead them to “The Braille Club” because both have a peculiar taste in their sex life, and their preferences sometimes puts them in trouble.
Virinder and Noor are engaged. This engagement was imposed by his abusive father. Virinder is a lonely man with many insecurities. He’s a successful man but doesn’t like to mingle.
Noor is a cold, calculating and self-serving woman. For her this marriage is nothing more than a business. But when they know each other more deeply something happens that begins to change the course of their lives.
This book reinforces the importance that our family has in our lives, but also explores the true love.
How far can go the madness and wickedness of a man? How far love can justify the actions of a crazy man?
If I told you that the suspense in the previous books was very high, I can assure you that this book can bust any scale, it had parts where I thought everything would go wrong, that there was no return to the light. And the hot scenes are pretty high in this book and are becoming more and better every time.
The mystery, suspense, twists and turns made me devour this book in no time and left me with such a book hangover! The feeling you get from the characters makes you feel like you are right there with them.
I was very happy reading this book when I was hit violently by the news that there would be another book. I cannot stand this waiting. Why is it that when I’m motivated and curious to read a book I cannot have the final at my disposal? This wait will kill me slowly and painfully, but on the other hand I’ll have another book to read, lol.
I rated this book with 5 bookworm stars.
I don’t want to be always repeating myself but it’s bigger then me.When i love an author I want to shout to everyone than her/his book is amazing and this new book is freaking good.
Do you want to go for a ride? A wild ride?
Shadow: Cerberus MC Book 3 by Marie James it’s out now. go get it while it’s hot and i mean really hot.
When we fall in love we want more and more right? So it’s perfectly normal that when we love an author we want more books to read and I was eager to have another book from the fantastic Marie James.
“Shadow” is the 3rd book from the “Cerberus Mc Series” and like the other books in this series is breathtaking, in a good way of course.
This book revolves around “Shadow” the VP of Cerberus Mc and “Misty” and the whole book is switched between their points of views.
“Shadow” is a free and wild biker who does not want commitments. For him what matters is one-night stands, with no strings attached or promises. Life for him was not easy, because during his military career he experienced a lot of tragedy. Now he wants to party with his companions.
“Misty” is a finalist from the university, a future pre-school teacher, she was raised in the bosom of a very religious family with high standarts and convictions. When she meets “Shadow” something in her change and make her want more, but she knows that it won’t happen, simply because “Shadow” isn’t a stay at home guy. A big lie will rock their world, i mean really change everything, you’ll see. When she finds herself abandoned and rejected by those who should protect and love her unconditionally she is forced to ask help to the one and only “Shadow”.
Can a lie be forgiven or even forgotten? Can it be justified in the name of love? Will “Shadow”, who is not used to forgive, forget?
This book, like the others in this series, is breathtaking. I cannot tell you why, because I’m not a spoiler, but I can say that I wasn’t waiting for this unfold. The excitement level of this book is something that will make us rethink seriously the purpose of our lives.
The ups and downs, twists and turns had put me on edge and the unknown, not knowing what would happen next raised my anxiety levels to the maximum.
“Shadow” is a fantastic and exciting book, I love the fact that the main characters of the other books from this series are involved in this story as well, it’s so good to remembre them, to know more about them.
Marie James, I had said this in my previous reviews and I already had said to you in a private message but I don’t get tired to repeat that you’re a genius, your ability to captivate us with every book you write does not cease to surprise me. The level of emotion and feeling that you put in each book makes us rethink the purpose of our lives and makes us feel like we’re part of the story. Thank you so much for this. And now what? What book will you write next? We will have to wait long? I sure hope not because i’m experience a huge book hangover.
I rated this book with 5 big stars

Not a jail.
I’d been kidnapped and imprisoned.
I wasn’t alone. I shared the cell with Garin Woods, the man I’d loved since I was a kid.
The man I couldn’t be with because of the secret. A man who would kill me if he found out what that secret was.
Someone wanted to torture me.
One of us deserved it.
It wasn’t Garin.

Hello, all! My name is Fisher Amelie and I wrote a little story called Penny in London. Thank you so much for joining us today and I hope you enjoy our little teasers on this, the day of its release. “May your first child be a masculine child.” <—If you read the book, you’ll get this later.
You know how everyone says when one door closes another one opens? At the time, you find this statement obnoxious as all get out because a) you don’t really know what the future holds, it certainly hasn’t been a cakewalk so far, and b) the thought of change is unbearable. You feel like your life is falling apart and everyone around is feeding you clichés like they’re made out of kale or quinoa or whatever the trend health food is right now. You don’t want kale clichés, you want double-chocolate fudge realisms, and you want them now. You just want things the way they were, but then something happens, a moment, an instant that sets you out on a path toward happiness you never knew could exist, and suddenly you think, huh, I don’t think I want double-chocolate fudge anymore. I think I’m in the mood for this heaping serving of strawberry cheesecake sitting in front of me…with a side of kale. And a pair of split pants, but we won’t get into that right now.
Graham Glenn may have tossed her in, but Oliver Finn made her feel again.
I didn’t have a fireworks moment, really. I have written for years and years, tucking notebooks away under my bed and in tubs in the closet, never really thinking that I was practicing for a career. I did it because I loved it and I did it because it was all I ever wanted to do. When I was grown, after going into finance of all things, I decided to throw caution to the wind and attempt a career at copywriting. Flash forward several years and I had made a name for myself in that world, with several agencies, and had a comfortable living, but it wasn’t enough. I had a burning desire to lay a world down on paper and see where it took me. The rest is history.
How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends on the book. My Seven Deadly Series novels take me much longer than most of my other novels solely because of the research that each entail. Each Seven Deadly takes approximately eight to ten months, three of those months being research alone. I also painstakingly plot each of those novels and that can be tedious. My other series, The Sleepless Series, each of those books took about six months each. Penny in London and my upcoming book, Get in the Car, Jupiter, each only took about six weeks. The material is a lot more emotional and the plots are simpler so I’m allowed to just run with it.
What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
Busy! LOL I’ve three children, seven, three, and two. Needless to say, I only write when they’re asleep, which makes it difficult to get the words I need in daily. I sort of live by the expectation that my kids shouldn’t know that I’m a writer, so a lot of my time is spent with them. It’s not a coincidence that my novels take so long to release.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? I can’t write unless my kids are sleeping and it’s a confirmed sleep, all the doors in my house are locked, and most importantly I have to have earbuds with music going. I prefer the dark but it’s not necessary. On the flip, I can’t edit with music. In fact, I have to have complete silence to edit.
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books? Usually I get them from a random news story I’ll read or film I’ll watch. Something will strike me as interesting and my brain goes on over drive, conjuring up a character and their world, then before I know it, I’ve got a novel plotted out.
When did you write your first book and how old were you? My first book was The Undestorey, no longer available for sale, (psst, check Smashwords) and it was in 2009.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Read! Oh my gosh, my favorite thing in this whole big, wide world is to read!
What does your family think of your writing? At first they were pretty hesitant to support me, that’s being polite, but eventually they realized that I wasn’t going to quit and they settled down. Ba ha ha!
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? The publishing world is so fickle. Procedures change at the drop of a dime, marketing strategies change with every single book, and reaching your readers has become almost impossible.
How many books have you written? Eight so far! Not as many as some but not as few as others, right?
Which is your favorite? FURY is my favorite. I cut open my vein and bled that book. The research, the characters, the world, the words, all of it. It was an extension of myself, that novel, and when I was through, I felt like I was truly in mourning when I had to let it go. I’m still not fully over it and it’s been a year.
What do you think makes a good story? A good story is one that keeps you up at night, begging to be written out. A good story demands to be recorded. When you have that, you have a good story.
2 But not unwelcome.
3 I just wasn’t ready, couldn’t trust my instincts, because I didn’t know myself anymore. It was his fault.
4 Now months have passed and I don’t see you anymore, yet you’re all I think about.
5 I stayed here. I can’t admit it out loud yet but I did this for you. Somehow I knew you were worth staying for.
6 I’m only seven minutes from your house, you know. I timed it. Every single day for months I’ve wanted to knock on your door, tell you hello, kiss your lips, ask if I could stay.
7 Answer your door.
8 Answer your door.
9 Answer your door.
10 I’ll stop knocking now.
1 I wish I’d never let him have you, never let him near you, never let him throw his spell over you. I wish I would have demanded he back away from you.
2 I would do anything for you not to be the first image I wake to and the last I fall asleep to.
3 I want you to see him for what he is, know him for what he will do to you, discover he’s not the one for you.
4 If only you weren’t so beautiful, or clever, or kind, or charming.
5 But you are all those things and you drive me crazy with that hair I would give anything to run my hands through, your skin I wish to breathe over, your words I want to drown in.
6 And you are unaware of my secret. You must be, have to be, because I know if you were, you wouldn’t smile at me as you do, laugh at my jokes, banter with me so effortlessly.
7 You wouldn’t torture me if you knew how I felt, how I am known to lay in my bed at night plagued with an imagination that won’t let you go.
8 No, you wouldn’t do that, and yet, I’m in agony still, want for anything you will give me despite it meaning nothing to you.
9 And I want you desperately. Incessant shouting in my head, silently begging for you to look at me, notice me, see me as more than his friend.
10 Notice me, Penelope Beckett. See me, Penelope Beckett. Give me permission to worship at your feet, Penelope Beckett.
